Extinctioners Page[edit]

hey RVDDP2501 here, I'm just curious about what you did to the character page links, you kinda made them inactive with the change at the beginning of the link, I'm not mad, please don't think that, I just want to find out from you what was the change you wanted to make, Please I wanna make things as good as possible, ok.

When people or characters go by more than one name, we have the article under the most commonly-used name, with mentions of the other names near the start of the article, also bolded. Each of the other names is made a redirect to the article. I've been assuming that the codenames (Vague, Copycat, and so on) are the more common names for most of the Extinctioners characters.
I hope that's somewhat clearer! Sorry to have left broken links as I did--I've been pecking at Wikifur in snatches of time lately. -- Sine 21:57, 6 June 2006 (UTC) (Echoed to your talk page)

Hey Sine, hows things, listen what do you think of the page(s), is it to your and the others liking, anything or suggestions you like to see, please let me know.RVDDP2501 00:33, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey Sine, did you look at the individual pages after you edited them, cause the stats suddenly go across and under the left had pics cutting the ststs (kinda) in half, any ideas on how to make them look better?RVDDP2501 01:10, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

RE:Text copyright concerns[edit]

Heya. I've noticed that the text of Maxwell Manx (Copy Cat) looks to have come from http://www.geocities.com/extinctioners/profile_copycat.html and I assume that's similarly the case for at least some of the other character articles. Could you clarify that for me? I gather we have permission to use the character images here, but I don't remember reference to text descriptions, and I'm ever anxious about copyright concerns. -- Sine 00:29, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

I understand what you are saying but believe me, I have been given permission from Shawntae Howard himself to use both his pics and text in this and other related articles pertaining to Extinctioners, listen could you give me your e-mail address so I can forward his e-mail of him giving permission or should I talk about this with GreenReaper what should I do?RVDDP2501 01:16, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

how did you do that?[edit]

In http://en.wikifur.com/w/index.php?title=CSI&action=history I see you have "updated since my last visit" highlighted in green. In the diff, the highlighted doesn't show. How did you do that? SleepAtWork 12:01, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

I don't see any highlighting and actually haven't the faintest what you're referring to. All I can suggest is poking around in preferences (options can be obscurely tucked away in there). -- Sine 19:49, 11 June 2006 (UTC) (Echoed to your talk page)
This is a feature of the watchlist system - it'll show that if you're watching a page and it notices that you have not seen the latest diff. --GreenReaper(talk) 18:22, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Thank you. I came back here to add that I saw an edit of Greenreaper with that and now I know what it is. I've not seen it on wikipedia, though, but it would be really helpful on talk pages with lots of talk. SleepAtWork 01:56, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Fuzzy Logic[edit]

Hehe, you beat me to that disambiguation - I had started to fix that up from home but I had to leave before. Thanks for saving me the time; now I can spend the time on WikiFur Meetup flyers instead. If you're coming, be sure to drop by on Friday. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 18:24, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome. Have fun with the flyers. I won't be in the area but a meetup happening is a cool thing. -- Sine 22:38, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Scarlet Ann Starfox page[edit]

Hey Sine, could you clean up the Scarlet Ann Starfox (Extinctioners) page like the other character pages? I'm not as good as you in that departmentRVDDP2501 20:22, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Sure. I've tidied up the statistics (lowercasing things), added in some appearance information, and put in a new section heading or three. I've left the cleanup tag on there for now, for a couple of reasons. The tone of the text seems a bit chatty but I don't know enough to confidently edit it, and also the article seems pic-heavy. In particular, I http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Image:Scarlet.jpg is similar to a couple of the others, and I think it's redundant with them. Is there a particular reason for that image? Deleting it would tidy the article up a bit, I think. -- Sine 22:38, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

I understand what you are saying about the pics but I have them there for two reasons, 1. a full body profile as opposed to just a head and shoulders shot (in most cases) and 2. I CAN'T STAND TO SEE EMPTY SPACE! I'm not angry, I'm trying to show the strength of my feeling (sorry if you thought it was anger directed towards you, I would never do something like that) ok does that make any sense to you?RVDDP2501 22:55, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

9/11 Furry Status Page edits[edit]

They look like a proxy, but it it only a guess as to their nature. They both are similar IP's with the same front mask yet have differing tails. I'd keep an eye on those. Proxies are such a pain. >_> If it is a proxy, you know what to do with it. ----Markus(talk) 10:44, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Krystin page improvement[edit]

Hey Sine, thanks for the improvement on the Krystin page, appreciate it. - RVDDP2501 10:25, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Deleting redirects[edit]

I would like to discuss deleting redirects. As deleted articles are still saved in the database, there is no need to do it to save disk space. In most cases there's no need to delete them. Even if there's no internal pages linking to it, there are still external links and maybe people who have it bookmarked. I don't disagree with all your deleted redirects. Wikipedia's redirect policy may be a start for consideration. --Rat 02:32, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

I appreciate you letting me know. Could you be more specific about what concerns you, so I have a sense of what to continue doing and what to leave alone? My main concern has been with articles moved to correct capitalization. -- Sine 05:29, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, to pick a recent example there was Zassa of FurryMUCK. It was under that name for a long time, so one should leave a redirect so not to break external links and bookmarks. Moving articles to correct capitalization is good, but you don't have to delete the redirects from bad capitalization to good capitalization, so links aren't broken and articles are easy to find --Rat 05:50, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I admit, I hadn't considered external links, though I always check for internal ones. As for capitalization, I should have been clearer. I specifically refer to cases where the article was a proper name (a person, usually) and not capitalized as a proper name: John doe rather than John Doe. Similarly with typos and misspellings. -- Sine 05:59, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
If there's an external link to an incorrectly-capitalized page ie [1], the wiki does not take them to the correct page unless there's a redirect. If a misspelling is common, I would keep a redirect from the incorrect to the correct, but if it's an unlikely typo, then yeah, delete it. --Rat 06:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Revert War w/Endless Round[edit]

I've reverted to your version a couple times now...I'm about to add an addition regarding the banned members. Is there anything else that can be done? Spaz Kitty

Everything seems to have settled down now. Thanks for helping it get that way. XD Spaz Kitty

Why?[edit]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for blocking him. I believe I reverted everything he edited. =3 Spaz Kitty

Looks like it! Thank you for doing that so quickly. -- Sine 21:05, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Mature animation category[edit]

Actually, I named the category Category:Mature animation because the parent category is named Category:Animation. --Douglas Muth 19:26, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
