Actually, everything that I wrote down was accurate (I did not say Palcomix was the first cub thread, it was the one the attracted the most flak, and yes I was aware about the rest of the cub threads, but, again the Palcomix one was the one people complained the most, enough to attract the attention of CYD, enough to make a "Controversy" section about it.)

Uh, point?

The paragraph "Many visitors to Lulz take issue with the board's "hands-off" approach to posting and moderation, allowing all manner of topics ranging from clean art, standard straight and gay art of a sexual nature, to vore, scat and cub art, to be posted side-by-side on the site's singular topical board, /furi" is listed twice on two different sections, Melly, just FYI Spirou 18:23, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Clean-up

I gave the article a once-over, as there was a bit of redundant/duplicate information, the controversy section data seemed all bundled together, plus the article flow need a bit of correction. If a WTFur Admin want's to give it a look see for accuracy,... Spirou 21:45, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

I just checked them since they came from my IP address.

The most recent one seems to be mere clarification. Putting quotation marks on alleged doesn't make sense no matter how I look at it.

The first one seems no more non-neutral than the rest of the paragraph; it may actually be more informative, since not much has been sourced in either case. (PS This is my first edit! Hello!) Chibithulu 17:48, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I'll agree with the fake/alleged clarification, on second look that doesn't seem to be a problem. But the takedown request edit is still too POV, but you are right in saying that the paragraph (indeed, it seems, the whole article) is POV and needs sourcing. Given how a lot of these sites operate, I get the feeling that they aren't generally receptive to takedown requests, especially if they think the art in question might provide them with some amusement or drama for a while.

Anyone have thoughts on slapping an NPOV template or sourcing-request template (don't know that one yet) on this article? Simba B 18:00, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

The board re-appeared on August 25, 2006 as "Lulz.net," having lost its prior name due to legal proceedings with furry artist Jeremy Bernal. An European server was also chosen due to more lax copyright rules overseas, which meant that what little of a DNP copyright protection "WTFur" had could now be completely disregarded. This blows past POV and right into full on editorializing. Simply noting the server moved to Europe (since "overseas" is subjective; America is "overseas" if you're in Japan) and leaving it at that would be most fair. 733

Lulz.net is currently, likely permanently, offline. cho0b and the other admins got in one little fight and Arcturus got scared, etc. Expect the situation to be settled by early next week, as cho0b is firing WTFur back up and the rest of the gang are building something called Sidechan. --DS|go 07:52, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Their DDOS of 4chan

The person that tried to force moot to move #4chan to our IRC network was not a person in charge at lulznet. The DDoS was organized from our IRC network but it was without our consent or knowledge.

It is done like this:

One IRC bot controls many other bots. The main bot is kept on an IRC network (any network, it doesn't matter) and the bots owner can control it from there. It can be used to DDoS a website by sending the command through the botnet to make the RFI servers target the mark.

So, it can be done from any channel on any server. :( People tried to blame it on us and I think that stinks. We're above DDoSing! C'mon now.

Site seems to be down again, FWIW.

I seem to recall some discussion a while ago on /furi/ to the effect that there was a plan to move it to a different host, maybe also a different domain name. Currently, going to lulz.net gets you a "bad_httpd_conf" error.
