Motor City Furry Con 2024
Motor City Furry Con 2024 was the tenth iteration of the Motor City Furry Con convention. It took place at the at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest Hotel in Ypsilanti, MI on April 4-7, 2024.[1] The convention's theme was The Lost World: Furassic Park, in reference to both The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the second novel in Michael Crichton's science fiction Jurassic Park series and the Steven Spielberg film of the same name. The event's Guests of Honor were artist BlindCoyote and Clyde Pine, owner and artist of a furry apparel company known as CAMP HOWL.[2]
The convention's charity was The Pipsqueakery for the second consecutive year.[3]
Hotel Evacuation[edit]
Shortly before 9:00AM EDT on April 7th, the hotel hosting the convention received an anonymous bomb threat that led to the hotel being evacuated. Attendees were outside, many of them in their fursuits, for several hours until the Ypsilanti Police Department and Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office gave the all-clear. [4] This would be the second time this had happened at this convention.
