Motor City Furry Con 2023
Motor City Furry Con 2023 was the ninth iteration of the Motor City Furry Con convention. It took place at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest Hotel in Ypsilanti, MI on March 24-26, 2023.[1] The convention's theme was Fur Imagination.[2]
The Guests of Honor for the event were Iggy and Gameover
The convention saw 1,571 attendees and a total of $30,000 was raised for the convention's charity, The Pipsqueakery.[3][4]
Hotel Evacuation[edit]
Shortly before 1:00PM EDT on March 24, the hotel hosting the convention received an anonymous bomb threat that led to the hotel being evacuated. Attendees were outside, many of them in their fursuits, for 3.5 hours until the Ypsilanti Police Department and Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office gave the all-clear.[5][6][7]Motor City Furry Con was the third furry convention to receive such a threat in 2023.
