Metalocalypse is an American animated television serie created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim lineup. The series follows a fictional melodic death metal band called Dethklok, whose vocals and music are performed by Small.

The fictional band members are Nathan Explosion, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, Pickles, William Murderface, and Toki Wartooth. Their manager is Charles Foster Offdensen.

Metalocalypse and furry[edit]

In the fourth season's first episode, Fanklok, Dethklok visits Klokikon, a convention for fans of the band.[1] Furries are among the attendees and are briefly seen and mentioned, those being a squirrel fursuiter dressed as Murderface, a wolf fursuiter dressed as Skwisgaar, and a rabbit fursuiter dressed as Pickles.[2][3]

Dethklok reacts to all the convention fans with disgust, including the furries.

Additional furry art[edit]

Disgusted or not, this did not stop furry artists from creating Rule 88's fan art of the characters.[4][5][6][7][8][9] A lot of Metalocalypse furry artwork tends to depict Dethklok as the same animals - Nathan as an alligator, Skwisgaar as a bird, Toki as a rabbit, Pickles as an octopus, and Murderface as a white tiger - because of Season 2, Episode 9 "Dethcarraldo", in which these species are depicted as the characters' inner animals.[10]
