Great Lakes Fur Con 2017 was to be the fourth Great Lakes Fur Con convention. It was scheduled to take place over May 26-28, 2017.[1]
The convention's theme was to be "Furrywood's Great Lakes Legends", in which attendees would take a cinematic look at creepy Midwest ghost stories.[2] The guests of honor were to be JD Puppy and BlindCoyote.[3]
On May 14, 2017, it was announced that Great Lakes Fur Con had been cancelled due to lack of staff, many of whom had to step down due to personal obligations.[4] Rather than put on a sub-par event, the convention organizers chose to cancel for 2017, with plans to return in 2018.[4]
People are still awaiting refunds[citation needed] and they blatantly ignore messages about refunds.[citation needed]
The 2017 con was replaced with a potluck for attendees in the Grand Rapids area.[5]
