Great Lakes Fur Con 2014, the first GLFC, took place over February 7-9, 2014,[1] at the Ramada Plaza in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.[1]

The theme was "404: Theme Not Found".[1] The Guests of Honor, announced in August, 2013, were Rei Meerkat and OMGSparky.[2]

The convention chose to support two charities, one serving as a short-term selection and the other as a long-term selection, instead of supporting only one charity. The short-term charity for 2014 was Paws With A Cause (PAWS) which "trains Hearing Dogs, Service Dogs, Seizure Response Dogs and Service Dogs for Children with Autism."[3] The long-term charity, slated to be at the con through GLFC 2016, was Crash's Landing and Big Sid's Sanctuary, a local no-kill cat rescue that also houses one of the nation's largest shelters devoted exclusively to cats with feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia virus (FeLV).

Registration opened in August 2013.[4] The convention saw 264 attendees, with 76 fursuiters in the fursuit parade ("and more not in it").[5]
