A hybrid is the combination of two or more species in one given individual. It is becoming a common practice in the furry fandom to use hybridised characters. Some individuals are more viable, whereas others are more fantastical in nature.
Human hybrids are so common among characters with a "genetic engineering" backstory that the human component will often be taken for granted. Such characters are more likely to be referred to as recoms or anthropomorphs, unless they're a mix of human and more than one other animal species.
