BritFur was an infamous hoax convention, seemingly due to happen in 2005 in Manchester, England.

History

The idea of a British furry convention has been under debate for some time. Several groups attempted to organize something, apparently without success. The BritFur effort was no different. BritFur 2005 was scheduled to take place November 4-6. However this did not actually happen. Furthermore, the proposed 2006 convention on the BritFur site did not occur as announced. The site, created by Tippus Tailus was created under the idea that if he creates a site announcing where and when, it will gather enough interest to make it happen. However, this has not happened on multiple occasions now, and it is stongly advised that people do not believe the "facts" on the site. Some feel that the site is simply a parody or a hoax.

Smaller furmeets tend to be more regular and more popular.
