Kharcon (Харькон; sometimes transliterated Harkon or Kharkon) is a small semi-annual furry convention typically taking place in a rented guest house in Kharkiv, Ukraine, first occurring over 24-26 August 2012.[1] The event was founded by Ksanshie (ru) after a trip to WUFF.
Kharcon mixes features of a furmeet with a relaxacon, with social and board games and nightly visits to the on-site sauna and/or pool. There have also been tutorials on crafting paws and other handmade items[2] and trips to Feldman Ecopark, or (weather permitting) fursuit walks. Accommodation and food is included; usually brunch and dinner - often barbecue on Saturday - as well as fruit, and tea/coffee. It is is possible to attend as a non-residential guest for one or more days for small payments to cover food.
The event is limited to 40 participants in the house at one time[3] - including any potential guests - and has had a roughly consistent attendance since 2015, with 32 registered as of early August 2015,[4] 44 in March 2016,[5] and 28 in September 2018.[6] As of 13 December 2015, there had been 129 unique participants over the years.
