Windblown is an upcoming action-roguelike indie video game developed and published by French video game studio Motion Twin. The game is scheduled for a full release on Microsoft Windows (via Steam) at an undetermined date, with early access coming sometime in 2024.

Premise[edit]

In Windblown, players become Leapers – anthropomorphic animal warriors fighting to protect their home, The Ark, from the gigantic and deadly Vortex and its Sentinel minions hell-bent on taking them down and building their own world anew.

Gameplay[edit]

Windblown is a solo / online co-op where players go in alone or up to two other players online. Leapers absorb the memories of the fallen warriors who came before, learning how to master the fighting styles of their predecessors to unleash their full potential. Players will swap between multiple weapons and adapt to every situation by shifting their build on the fly as they progress through vibrant, layered environments. As players unlock more memories, they will be able to collect stronger and more complex weapons that will turn them into the ultimate killing machine.

Development[edit]

Windblown is developed by Motion Twin, an independent game development studio from France. The game was first unveiled in December 2023 at The Game Awards, via a full-fledged animated trailer by animation studio Bobbypills,[1][2] with a 2024 early access launch for Windows.[1]
