Wild Prairie Furs is a regional social group located in the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada area.

History[edit]

The Wild Prairie Furs was founded by Chinona and Borealis in 2013 to make a minor-friendly fur group that would gather together and do activities at a fairly low cost. Though it kept itself separate from the local Manitoba Furries, it quickly grew into a large, inclusive community that bolstered a few other Manitoba-based fur communities.

In the spring of 2018, Wild Prairie Furs, Manitoba Furries, and Westman Furries all sat down and had a discussion on how to fix the fractures in the local community. It was decided that while groups would keep their separate names and do their own events, all three would work together and advertise as 'Sister groups' so that the flavour of each group could be maintained while growing further.
