FFA 2024[edit]

Hallo. Free Fur All is still going on for 2024, as per their post on X; Just FYI, cheers. - Spirou (talk) 02:33, 19 December 2023 (EST)

I'm not very confident it'll actually happen due to staff members quiting due to poor leadership, but I admit calling it discontinued is premature and we should wait until July 2024 to make a judgement. Lumin City (talk) 10:25, 19 December 2023 (EST)
No problems, is cool. - Spirou (talk) 12:06, 19 December 2023 (EST)

Edit damage[edit]

Hmm, could you be a bit more careful?. You are both eliminating historical data (Trigger Happy’ definition of his own creations), de-editing some of the articles (ref section goes before the see also section, near the ext. section), and twisting redirects around (inflatables redirects to inflation concerning users and characters, not pool plushies). Thanks in advance. - Spirou (talk) 06:34, 21 February 2024 (EST)

I'm following Wikipedia's idea of "be bold" to make this Furry Wikipedia better. I'm unsure what's meant by "eliminating historical data" as pool toys are the most common term to define inflatable animal plushes (I haven't heard the term inflataplushie used in my years of being in those specific communities). Most Wikipedia articles list See Also before References, as it's inconvient to scroll through a long list of references to see related links. I believe most users searching up "inflatable" are looking for pool toys and not inflation. Most of my edits have made the articles better, but I'm aware not every one of them will be perceived that way. Overall, I do believe my edits have a positive impact on Wikifur as a whole, but I'll keep this mind in the future. Lumin City (talk) 06:44, 21 February 2024 (EST)
There is being “bold”, and there is de-editing 15+ years worth of already agreed upon Wikifur’s edit standards by hundreds of editors. “I didn’t hear of this” (re Trigger Happy), well, that is an issue on your part, not Wikifur’s, and is is still X, not Twitter, officially (I will make the changes to the SSCC’s changes tomorrow because is too late), and Inflatables (all the furs who are and I been involved with) call themselves and their characters that (and “I believe” is an assumption, not a fact). I will probably add later this week that "Inflatables" may refer to user, character, or toy because of this identifier issue (this has happened to way too many other terms in the past).
” Most of my edits have made the articles better,” Didn’t say they weren’t, but you have made indeed some minor omissions and mistakes, hence this post above. This is just a warning regarding your de-edits, not a declaration of hostilities because of your overall Wikifur edit behavior. We are not the enemy, but then we are short-staffed and busy enough not to have fallback to fix more issues. - Spirou (talk) 07:51, 21 February 2024 (EST)
Edits can be reverted, and I'm not sure why this is being taken so personally when it already has been done. regarding using a different term to refer to an inflatable animal, I'm not sure why it's my "issue" and not Wikifur's, which I never claimed it was. Wikipedia titles the article to the microblogging site Twitter, although states in the lead, "X, formerly and colloquially known as Twitter". The name Twitter is still used colloquially over X by many, and using X would only confuse more people. I'm not interested in hostilities, as the purpose of editing is to make Wikifur more informative. I understand there are staffing issues but I believe it's in Wikifur's best interest to encourage more people to volunteer their time editing pages. I hope this isn't a problem in the future. Lumin City (talk) 08:06, 21 February 2024 (EST)
It is not personal, you are using Wikipedia’s edits, standards, and beliefs in a place that is not, and you are being informed, not berated about it. Many, many times in the past this same scenario has been repeated over and over and 99% it has been acknowledged, and we have all moved on. “But Wikipedia!”… we are not Wikipedia. Our infrastructure is based on it, but we follow our own ways otherwise. Spirou (talk) 08:18, 21 February 2024 (EST)

(…)[edit]

I just wrote to you that here on Wikifur the “reference section” goes before the “see also section”, yet you reverted my edit because “there are articles here written the other way”…

Yes, those are articles on a living Wiki not yet fixed. There is no article here set in stone, and although we use Wikipedia’s syntax, we don’t follow their editing format to a “T” (see our Disambiguation pages, were we only add articles regarding the first name [i.e. Fox], where as Wikipedia adds ANY name containing the word “Fox”).

In short, again, please base your edits based on how Wikifur does it, not Wikipedia, and use established facts over beliefs. - Spirou (talk) 08:20, 21 February 2024 (EST)

If Wikifur says the "reference section" goes before the "see also section", I guess the other articles that have the order reversed should be edited to reflect that. While I disagree with this order, I'll follow how Wikifur does it. I'm going to continue editing articles because I still believe in making Wikifur a better place. Hakan Yote[edit]

Don”t. Do not touch that article at this moment. I don’t know if you are doing this on purpose now, but don’t.

No, the info you added will be added back in. Properly. The article didn’t need a NPOV tag, Connor is being good lately being neutral about his edits, so, it wasn’t needed.

You don’t add a real life name as the header, especially if the article as a noted handle (which the user is using actively in the fandom, the one he is trying to sneak in with! [they will not use their rl name]), the only exception is they have no handle to begging with.

And you added proper data in the wrong section (controversy stays in cintroversy). Yes, is all valid data, but with your “bold” edits, the article now needs some major babysitting, which with the lack of active editors, it hurts the Wiki. - Spirou (talk) 11:26, 21 February 2024 (EST)

Kero The Wolf's continued attempts to rejoin the fandom hiding under different aliases pose a serious risk to the Furries who interact with him. Being accused of "doing this on purpose" is a show of bad faith and questions whether it's being done in the best interest of Wikifur. The NPOV tag was added due to my belief that the article isn't putting enough weight on his zoophilic crimes, and attempts to run from his past which are well documented. The threat he poses toward other Furries is my reasoning for putting his real name, especially as he continues to make different aliases which make it harder to refer to him under one name. I understand that the info will be added later, but reverting the article now harms it more than leaving the information in until it's adjusted. Lumin City (talk) 11:38, 21 February 2024 (EST)

Peacewolf[edit]

Please stop editing and messing with the PeaceWolf page/article you're removing too much important info and replacing it with in my eyes hate attacks. If you do not like her please take those feelings to your own website, write extensively and link them on the page if they are relevant and are proved as true, as others have said before for others to do so. If you cant do that please just stop editing it as you removed convention info and other things of interest and are replacing it with controversial stuff and hate where facts cant be ascertained, I understand a tag has been added that you may feel allows you to put all manor of POV stuff but you should refrain from using it as a hate dump page Fesothe (talk)Fesothe

The article has been edited back to NPOV status, plus expanded greatly afterward all across the board (external links, missing categories, int./ext./ref links. grammar, etc...) instead of just adding Drama verbiage and unnecessary {{fact}} tags all over the article and just waltzing away (plus the moment you use any human being's murder [especially a non-fur's one] to "enhance" the attack on a user on the wiki, your credibility is now shot).... - Spirou (talk) 03:48, 26 February 2024 (EST)
