The Teijeinese (also known as Cat-bears) are a species created by Jerry Collins. They are felinoid beings of a highly tolerant society, with a high sense of aesthetics and creativity.

They were inspired by Tezuka's Kimba the White Lion, the actress/dancer Josephine Baker, various Asiatic, African, and Pacific rim cultures, and a briefly mentioned character from E.R. Eddison's Worm Orobourus. Graceful, kindly, and polite, they are also a brave and valiant species.
