Rare protogen features[edit]

“Certain "rare" protogen features are allowed to be included freely. These elements include three sets of ears, multiple tails, wings, supernumerary limbs, etc.” Yet the reference seems to contradict this, saying in no uncertain terms that protogens with these features are considered rare and only available via purchase of an adoptable. What gives? Hālian (talk) 13:04, 16 May 2021 (EDT)

Creators rights vs public domain use[edit]

It is important to understand that while preexisting characters or works of art created by an individual are illegal to use without consent, the use of a fictional species or races are within public domain and allows anyone to use them freely without harassment or discrimination against the individual. - —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 2a02:c7e:f07:3c00:f8d4:645:b104:32c (talkcontribs) .

Whether someone harasses or discriminates against someone else for using a closed/restricted species is up to them - it's not like species choice is a protected characteristic. Conversely, it also seems unlikely that such restrictions can be legally enforced. --GreenReaper(talk) 07:15, 28 February 2023 (EST)

Re: the name of this article[edit]

I believe that this article should be moved to either Protogen or some more generic name that encompasses both Protogen and Primagen. Primagen are much much less common in the fandom due to their proprietary nature. Users (like myself) will much sooner search for a Protogen article.

Another solution is to split Protogen into its own page. I'm unsure if this is appropriate given the similarities between the two species, but it is a solution. It just feels strange that a much more common species is treated as a subsection of an article on a much less common species. JaredTheWolf (talk) 13:20, 29 December 2021 (EST)

I think this makes sense, perhaps retitle it Protogen and Primagen, or vice versa - but in recognition of that, it would be suitable to briefly cover Protogen in the lede, which is currently purely focused on Primagen, and then describe their design differences in the body. --GreenReaper(talk)

would this be an illegal protogen?[edit]

Hi! So I wanted my main fursona to have an ability to maybe not turn into a protogen but have the armor stored in her body (so she'll look like a protogen when the armor is released). Would this be illegal yes or no? Thank you ^_^ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.118.123.64 (talkcontribs) .

I don't think this is the best place to answer that; it'd be best to ask whoever it is that you are concerned about filing a legal case against you. --GreenReaper(talk) 07:19, 28 February 2023 (EST)

Details from Russian WikiFur[edit]

The Russian version of this article appears to have information that this version lacks. If this information is accurate, perhaps someone can verify it (ideally with references) and add it to the article? --GreenReaper(talk) 06:42, 8 March 2023 (EST)
