Talk:Genus (comic book)

This entry was edited to remove the claim that Genus is the longest-running American adult comic. The edit comment specifically claimed that Cherry Poptart (by Larry Welz) is longer. In fact there are no more than 22 issues of Cherry, plus a handful of issues of a fan anthology. I guess that's fair enough. I'd probably have clarified it to be "longest running in terms of time", except that according to this Sex to Sexty ran from 1969 - 1983, so it's not quite there yet. Of course, it could reasonably be the second-longest running such series, unless anyone else knows any particularly long-running adult comics? --GreenReaper^(talk) 06:47, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

True, but Sex to Sexty isn't really a comic. It's a magazine which collected sexually explicit jokes and one-panel cartoon illustrations. Likewise, the only other adult anthology I can think of which achieved a higher issue number- Goodies, published by Jabberwocky Graphix- had issues #89-95 published in magazine format and all prior issues in fanzine or Tijuana-bible format- not in the common comic format. first Venus Genus?

Genus says "Genus began in June 1993 as a mature-readers comic book anthology series from Venus Comics, the adults-only imprint of Antarctic Press". But I thought Genus #5 was the the first Antarctic/Venus issue. (bcotd.com has a cover scan of Genus #4 and it has "Antartic Press" on cover, but does not have "Venus" on cover. I found my copy of Genus #5 and it does have "Venus" on cover.) --EarthFurst 02:34, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

move Terry bit ?

Maida's Website says Terry's work also appeared in Hit the Beach #1. That Maida page and MS University date that issue of Hit the Beach as 1993 July while Genus #2 is dated 1993 September. WikiFur's Genus article says Genus #2 "also featured the debut of Terry Moore". Any thoughts on whether that Terry bit should be moved to Hit the Beach ? --EarthFurst 06:00, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
