Furgot reference data[edit]
The BF board is long gone, but a couple save messages I have contain the reference needed to Gabriel Gentile's coining of the term. Unfortunately, they are follow-up posts, but it shows Gentile as the originator of the first thread containing such data:

Furgot is much more derogatory and more likely to piss off the individual whom is so appelled. After all, furvert is, in this fandom, a mostly harmless term, and one that can be tossed around rather lightly without much fear of insulting anyone.
Oh sure, you might say that deliberatly seeking to make people angry is wrong and is something that We Should Never Do™. I say thee nay. There are times when strong language is necessary to make a point, and when pissing off your opposition is a useful tool in getting someone's attention. Insults are a valid and useful part of language. A.o.D. etc.
