Is there any way that I could have my wikifur entry removed? I'm trying to make my name less googlable. I wrote the current content originally, and at this point I would rather not have it around. - —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Darq (talkcontribs) .

Yes, there is an option for exclusion. See WikiFur:Personal_exclusion. --Rat 17:12, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

I give up. I'll just live with the page. Also... everyone keeps poking me and asking why i want to be ungooglable now.

Do you think you can fully protect the article so that I cannot vandalize it? I have a nonstatic IP, so blocking the IP won't help much. If you don't, there's a chance I'll just keep vandalizing the article.--64.231.20.175 21:13, 15 October 2011 (EDT)

Exclusion request II[edit]

Exclusion Exclusion request
One of my employers has assumed connection with the furry fandom that i may have had at some point via this talk page, after linking my professional name with my username here. This could really hurt me down the road if a less tolerant person were to make the same connection. Could I ask that this page be removed, renamed or at least not indexed? It would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

I don't see a particular problem with this, given that the exclusion was non-controversial and the page remains here mostly for editors/existing readers. Anyone? --GreenReaper(talk) 20:37, 11 July 2013 (EDT)
After the exclusion request, and hiding its edit history, I can't get a bead on Darqchild and whatever his "professional name" is now. Either this employer is very, very persistent, or knows Darqchild personally (so it's personal). Future problems will not be because of the protected Wikifur entry. If the Wikifur entry is delete completely, it would leave it open to anybody (specially if they have a bone to pick with the user) to recreate it, and then add any and all "incriminating" data that any employer could access.
Tl;dr: No info can be used by anybody about anything thanks to the exclusion of the entry, or this talk page. I be more worry about Google - Spirou 22:05, 11 July 2013 (EDT)
I think that is what they are concerned about - that they will search using Google on that name (which might be part of a regularly-used email or professional name), and find that they are related in some way to furry fandom by the presence of this talk page. That is why they want it not to be indexed. --GreenReaper(talk) 19:20, 12 July 2013 (EDT)
Does the "No Index" tag work on talk pages? (don't want to add it if it doesn't, or we do not do so, i.e. "not index" them). I abide to you decision on this, Green, as you are the expert - Spirou 19:29, 12 July 2013 (EDT)
It should work fine, either {{noindex}} or the raw __NOINDEX__. I don't think we've done so much in the past, but we haven't been given a compelling reason to do so either. The question is whether it feels like a good thing to do in this situation. --GreenReaper(talk) 20:32, 12 July 2013 (EDT)

Experiment[edit]

To try a curiosity test, I googled "darqchild+furry". First two hits: This Wikifur talk page and a non-US group/forum he/she was a member off, with a mention n the ban page, and a disparaging post about him/her and users Kar** and Dan*****.

Taking this geographical clue, I check all the IPs he/she used here. It directs to the same non-US country. Entering the name+non-US country brings up a social media service. Checking this service search engine with the name plus any variation of the furry fandom related term brings up no hits.

Next test was "darqchild+the non-US group/forum". Four hits, the Wikifur page and the same two non-US group/forum's posts, plus labs.mirror.me, a personal information gathering site with a horrible WOT ranking, but the direct and cache link, and the site itself, are 404.

In short, the most data available about Darqchild is in that non-US group/forum he/she is a former member off, not Wikifur or his/her current social media account. And since the non-US group' forum is locked, good luck of randomly connecting Darqchild to the fandom via that page easily - Spirou 22:39, 11 July 2013 (EDT)
