Speculation?[edit]

I think the following might be a speculation made by Kitch. If anyone can confirm it, please give the confirmation here so the following can remain on the actual article page.

It should be noted that a possible 2007 move to Pittsburgh was envisioned by Dr. Conway and others due to the increasing attendance of Anthrocon before the sale of the Adam's Mark Hotel took place. At the time, the convention was already too big for any hotel in Philadelphia, and the Adam's Mark had the most convention space of any hotel in the city before its demolition.

I forgot to claim my Comment.. Bah. --Markus 07:06, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

This is true, though I would be more inclined to state it as "envisioned by the Anthrocon Board of Directors" rather than single out Kage specifically. Giza, I'm assuming this would be an accurate portrayal? (Giza is on said Board of Directors.) Anthrocon began soliciting people's opinions about moving to Pittsburgh in October of 2004. The original plan was to move in 2007, but the closing of the Adam's Mark moved those plans up a year, though it required Anthrocon to change their date to June instead of the usual July for 2006 only. --Duncan da Husky 13:22, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
Correct, it was a decision made by those of us on the Board. --Dmuth 17:45, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

2008 and 2009 dates[edit]

FWIW, I might as wall make a note here of our 2008 and 2009 dates, even though it might be too early to write an article for them:

  • June 26-29, 2008
  • July 2-5, 2009

Missing attendance numbers[edit]

User:Outrayjus seems to want attendance records for several years, including 2000 and 2002, which I can't seem to find listed on the main article (as well as a couple of other years). Does anyone have records for the missing years? Spaz Kitty 23:26, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Actually, that information is available from the Anthropomorphic Fandom Convention Information Sheet:
Year Attendance
1997 500
1998 600
1999 804
2000 1059
2001 1457
2002 1600
2003 1948
2004 2411
2005 2373
2006 2489
Hope that helps!----DuncanDaHusky(talk) 01:20, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Logo?[edit]

I just noticed this article doesn't have a logo like the other convention articles do -- is this possibly because of the trademarks on the image? I'm not fluent in legalese, so I wanted to ask first before uploading anything. Spaz Kitty 05:37, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Anthrocon does have a logo which has been uploaded to the wiki back in February last year. You can find it under Image:Anthrocon.gif and may note its listed as a fair use image which is currently used as a template image for Template:User Anthrocon. Wither or not this is what you were looking for, I have no idea. --Markus(talk) 10:06, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Guinness World Record[edit]

Is it noteworthy to mention that Anthrocon has a World record for largest annual furry gathering? (If anyone wants to check this it is in the 2008 Book on Page 123)--Soniku64 05:22, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
