SorrowDragon Resident

SorrowDragon, also known as Lycan Witch and Night Foxpaws (real name Raven Wolfshadow; born January 25, 1984 in Los Angeles, California, USA), is an anthro/furry fan who lives in Riverside, California.

Her current interests are lycanthropy, fursuiting, attending meetups, and furry art history and preservation.

Biography

SorrowDragon was born in California, USA. Youngest of a family of five in the poverty-stricken neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles, she was raised in this environment until the increase of violence and gang activity during and proceeding the Los Angeles Riots provoked her family to move to Downey, California a few years later due to growing safety concerns.

Fandom involvement

At age 17, SorrowDragon discovered and joined the furry community when she had discovered the community art site Elfwood and soon, DeviantArt, where she befriended and was inspired by artist Zarathus, to begin drawing, drawing crude wolves at first, then dragons, and with the help of Zarathus, slowly improved her drawing skill.

She has always been into fantasy and animals and has always been fascinated by dragons, werewolves, and shapeshifters. She has claimed to have felt that she was a wolf or a shapeless entity since her earliest memories and often imagined leaving home to find and be accepted to join a wolf pack. She soon discovered others within the furry community who shared similar experiences to those she felt growing up, so it was only natural that she was introduced to the Therian/Otherkin communities through connections within the online furry art community, that she was able to learn about and gain understanding of her therian/otherkin feelings and identity she felt her whole life.

In addition to her therian/otherkin feelings, she also had feelings she was the opposite gender from her earliest memories, and around the time she became involved with the furry community, she also became involved with the LGBTQIA community, the latter which provided knowledge and support for her transition from male to female at around the age of 20.

In the years to follow, SorrowDragon was introduced to the virtual world of Second Life, where she soon became a staff stage dancer at Club Triple Threat and soon volunteered to help with hosting club events and discovered a love for running these events and providing a fun experience for others. This experience along with encouragement by friends and fans, provoked SorrowDragon to decide to start her own furry-themed hangout and as a result, became an owner, manager, and consultant of several furry-themed clubs and hangouts, and amateur mesh club builder throughout the years to follow.

Her notable establishments include The Herm Lounge, later expanded to include The Underground Club, and the former renamed The Sergal Lounge from 2011-2013, the short-lived Furry Club of Furry sim in 2013, and YIFF from 2011-2016, the latter of which she co-founded with Leopard Adored. Her well-known management of successful and popular establishments led to others seeking her management and consultancy services for both start up and veteran venues alike, such as the Furry Industrial Noir Club, the BAY (Bondage and Yiff) Club, and the International Yiff Club. Sorrow retired from all club involvement in 2016 due to burnout and choosing to pursue other interests, choosing to hand ownership of YIFF to then-security manager, Scoobysnax Biscuit.

Additionally, as a transgender member of the Second Life furry community, she noticed the lack of a transgender specific community/chat group within Second Life, so she soon established the TransFurries group of Second Life, the first dedicated group for transgender and genderqueer furries of Second Life.

SorrowDragon has since renamed her account to Wolf Blep, while also maintaining a secondary Second Life account under the username, Night Foxpaws. Elsewhere online, she is known and goes by the name LycanWitch.

She is currently employed at Amazon, where she’s currently involved with Amazon’s internal furry community and is admin of the internal Amazon furry chat groups and community accessible to Amazon employees worldwide which she gained administration over both, when previous admin and founder of the group, [Redacted], departed Amazon.

SorrowDragon's fursonas are a black & red winged furry dragon named Sorrow, a light brown & leopard spotted folf named Night, and werewolf named Kryzwulff.
