Quartz Husky, formerly known as Fjord Frost, was a fursuiter, YouTuber, and a data scientist who lives in Columbia, South Carolina, USA.[1]

He was previously a Director of Operations and a board member for Blue Ridge Furfare[2] before stepping down from the position in July 2020 due to raised concerns about the attendee's safety during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.[3]

His YouTube channel was set to private on March 18, 2021 and his current whereabouts are currently unknown.[4][5]

History[edit]

Quartz's earliest known online presence was on DeviantArt, joined sometime in September 2013. From the comment threads on his profile, he used to go by CarbonatedCelery.[6] During his time on DeviantArt, he would post about his progress in learning Flash animations and tutoring vector graphics via livestreams.[7][8]

He would eventually retire from DeviantArt and focus on his YouTube channel on September 3, 2016, to make furry content.[9] As Fjord Frost, his videos initially revolved around comedy, sarcasm, and potentially helpful advice to furries before he rebranded as Quartz Husky and would make videos that were related to both furries and statistics. He reached the 100,000 subscriber milestone on November 25, 2018.[10]

On Twitter and in a podcast interview conducted by South Afrifur, he has a bachelor's degree in Statistics. He has worked with Microsoft Excel and programming languages such as R, MATLAB, Python, Java, and SQL to gather data.[11][12]

In January 2021, he set most of his videos private which has accumulated over 6 million views, followed by his YouTube channel which had 144,000 subscribers set to private on March 18, 2021.[5] He stated that he had a severe impact on his mental health.[4]

Quartz Husky[edit]

Initially, his new fursuit was going to be named Kira[13], but he decided to choose a new name because there was already a fursuit named Kira that was made by Mischief Makers.[14] His new fursona is a female instead of a male, and the new fursuit is a full suit instead of a partial like his previous one and is in digitigrade form.
