LIFurs OMGWTFBBQ

LIFurs OMGWTFBBQ!, or OMGWTFBBQ!/OMGWTFBBQ, is an annual BBQ meetup hosted by the Long Island Furs.
Overview[edit]
OMGWTFBBQ has become the largest and longest-running furry gathering in Long Island, New York, USA.
The BBQ traditionally takes place throughout a two-day weekend at the picnic area of Sunken Meadow State Park, centrally located on the north shore of Long Island. It is a free event (except for the park's Vehicle Use Fee) filled with food, fursuiting, games, and visits to the beach and boardwalk. Attendees are urged to join the Telegram group for more information and to estimate attendance for logistics.
While the park is closed from Saturday evening to Sunday morning, local furry community sometimes organizes smaller off-site events such as room parties, house parties, or outdoors camping.

- 2006 - OMGWTFBBQ was hosted by Nekonaru Letao on August 28 at his house, and had 17 attendees.
- 2007 - Event takes place in Eisenhower Park on July 28.
- 2008 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on July 12. It was hosted by Warszawa
- 2009 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on August 22-23. It was hosted by Cubi and Warszawa. There was also an "OMGWTFBBQ Pre-Emptive Strike" on June 6, 2009 with Warszawa.
- 2010 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 7-8. It was hosted by Cubbi and Warszawa, and included a late-night room party at Wingate by Wyndham in Brentwood.
- 2011 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 6 and 28th. It was hosted by Cubbi and Warszawa, and included a late-night room party at Wingate by Wyndham in Brentwood.
- 2012 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on July 21-22 and has approximately 50 attendees. It was hosted by Cubbi and Warszawa, and included a late-night room party at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Hauppauge.
- 2013 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 10-11. It was hosted by Cubbi and Warszawa
- 2014 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 2-3. It was hosted by Cubbi and Warszawa
- 2015 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 22-23 and has 82 attendees. It was hosted by Cubbi and Warszawa
- 2016 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 27-28 and has over 90 attendees. Cubbi and Warszawa hosted it. Attendees received commemorative fabric lunch bags with "In Memory of JBadger" printed on them
- 2017 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 12-13 and has over 96 attendees. It was hosted by Cubbi and Warszawa and featured an impromptu fursuiter competition requested and judged by the Park Police. Attendees received commemorative beer steins provided by Val and AmmyStar
- 2018 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 25-26. Cubbi and Warszawa hosted it. Attendees received commemorative T-shirts provided by Val and AmmyStar
- 2019 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on July 27-28 and had 94 attendees. Cubbi and Warszawa hosted it. Attendees received commemorative backpacks provided by Val and AmmyStar
- 2020 - Cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic
- 2021 - Cancelled again due to COVID-19
- 2022 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on August 13-14 with over 108 attendees. Cubbi and Warszawa hosted it
- 2023 - The event takes place in Sunken Meadow State Park on Sunken Meadow on July 29-30 with over 120 attendees. Cubbi and Warszawa hosted it
- 2024 - The event takes place in Heckscher Park on July 27-28.
