Keita Haruka

Keita Haruka is an anthropomorphic black wolf. His player is resident in South Africa. Keita has been active in the furry fandom since October 2006 and is primarily active in the South African furry community.

Background

Keita was born on 11 October, 1982, and went through several awakenings in his life that brought him to the fandom. The first was recieving a visit from a black wolf with green eyes while still a child.

The image of the wolf stayed with him all his life until a spiritual and emotional crisis in 2006 forced him to acknowledge that the wolf existed and was part of him.

In 2003, he received a B.Sc degree, majoring in Zoology and Microbiology, and in 2007 he completed his M.Sc in Environmental Science and Management.

Furry2Furry was the first furry site he joined.

Keita is primarily a writer, and have published several stories on Sofurry and Fur Affinity.

Furry life

Keita started out in the fandom as a silver wolf. In time, his fursona gradually changed as he explored himself. The first major physical transformation his fursona underwent was a change in colour from silver to black.

After meeting his mate (Kiba Haruka) on FurF in 2007, he changed his name from Keita Silverwolf to Keita Haruka. With the help of his mate, he gradually came to a greater understanding of himself.

Very much a "what you see is what you get" sort of person, Keita behaves no differently online than he does in real life. He sees his fursona as a spiritual representation of his true inner self - the wolf is him, and is not merely a character he plays.

Activity in the fandom

His first furry activity was on Furry2Furry. Early in 2007, a fellow south African fur (Spike2k5) dragged him onto FurF. He was later on made a moderator of that forum until a software failure on the host server caused the site's destruction. Early in 2008, he followed Shewolf to a new site, Fur4u, and was made a moderator there.

Late in 2006, he met a fellow South African fur, Rakuen Growlithe, with whom he tried to create a website for South African furs. It wasn't until 2008 that this dream was realised when they teamed up with Kad Foxwolf and Anoyomouse. This partnership resulted in the creation of ZAFur.

Keita is no longer very active in the furry fandom, and is rarely seen, even on the sites he founded.
