Kanix

Kanix were originally meant to debut in the upcoming story 4-2-42 however Kanix officially debuted in Broader Horizons The Nira species, another species originally set to debut in 4-2-42 has since been confirmed to debut in Left For Dust and Broader Horizons. The changes were made as both stories are getting an early Redux. The Kanix Species are one of a long list of Original species set to debut in 4-2-42 with more than 32 original species set to be included in the story.

Some of the other species currently known along with the Kanix to be featured in 4-2-42 are the Nira, Evonix, Yukon, Vigal, Luunau, Kitra, Fonix, Foxra, Nakitave, Venox, Yinaz, Bieaixiii, Obai, Hyula, Eneeadee & Absys. The Species in bold are said to be in process of being created or finalised in their design, appearance and lore however currently the Kanix is the only one to debut and be completed in design. The original description of the Kanix species is below.

Cybernetically Enhanced Lifeform, CEL. The Kanix are a species of CELs. Their Limbs barring the head & tail are Detachable. Kanix are Unlike Primi/Protogen as Kanix are not Full Cyborgs or a perfect hybrid.

Kanix are at most 45/55, The Average Kanix are Technically a 20/80 Hybrid, 20% Cybernetic, 80% organic. However, in reality, The Average Kanix is 22.780% Cybernetic, 32.654% Hybrid (Part Cybernetic material, Part Organic Material) & 44.566% Organic.

Kanix are characterised by the melding of Cybernetic and Organic elements, which is consistent throughout their appearance. The main defining features of a Kanix are the Left eye, Tail & Right Arm. The Left Eye is Characterised by its Hybrid look. The eyeball itself is made of a 33/51/16 split (Cybernetic/Hybrid/Organic). The majority of the eyeball (51%) is made of hybrid cells which allow the eye to see far beyond what is normally possible with a purely organic eye. Around the eye is a patch of a metallic material. This material is not uniform, the material is confirmed to be metallic in nature however the exact composition of the material is not known, this material is also organic in shape and nature but not related to any Hybrid composition.

The tail of a Kanix is one of the Species greatest mysteries. It is known to be Fox like in form, Raptor like in length, Protogen like in composition and Kanix like in both function and uniqueness. Not much else is known about the tail, except that it is long, is Highly Cybernetic in nature and covered in the species' signature Hybrid material. The tail is known as the most cybernetic part of a Kanix.

The Right arm is unusual, because of it's high Hybrid and Organic composition. This is all that is known, Therefore the unusual right arm will be the target of future investigations.

Kanix as a species are known to not be extinct however due to their nature are extremely difficult to classify. Only 10 have ever been confirmed, only 3 specimens have ever been studied.

Below is the description given for the main protagonist in Broader Horizons, Nika, who is a Kanix.

A being never seen before, never known to exist. Undoubtedly unique yet seemingly familiar. With a look that was defined by cybernetics much like a protogen yet as organic in nature as Vix herself, However, that wasn't all that was strange. No, it was that part of the being was made of material both organic and cybernetic in nature, something thought to be impossible. It's left eye was certainly strange as it was Organic in nature yet surrounded by inorganic cybernetic material. The tail was extremely mystifying, seeming to be composed mostly of that hybrid stuff yet having inorganic cybernetic parts covering the bottom half of the tail not too unlike that of a protogen. It was long like a protogen but also uniquely Fox like its shape and form. The ears are similar in likeness to that of a fox crossed with that of a Protogen. Its paws are strange in being a cross between that of a Husky and that of a Feline. The maw and head are distinctly Fox like in form, with many of the same characteristics that define the head of one. Its torso was slim in form, just like Vix's, suggesting that the being is agile. The legs as expected are digigrade however seem to be partially Cybernetic. The hind paws of the creature are mostly cybernetic with no claws despite the existence of toes. The neck is interesting, since the neck along with the tail appear to be firmly connected to the torso.
