Israeli Furs, also known as IL Furs refers to the general furry population living in Israel, and to the number of similarly-named communities which cater to them.

As of February 2023, the Israeli Furs community consists of around 400 members, approximately 50 of whom are fursuiters.

Social Groups and Servers[edit]

Considering its small size, the Israeli Furs community has managed to create a large number of social groups and servers on several different platforms dedicated to providing local furries with spaces to chat and interact.

Telegram[edit]

Over the years, the Israeli Furs community has had several Telegram chats. The first Israeli Furs telegram group was created in 2016[1] and was, at the time, the most active furry group in Israel. It was closed in early 2021 due to the group owner forgetting to transfer ownership to a different admin before leaving the group.

New Telegram groups have opened along the way, including groups for adults (18+) and general groups for everyone, as well as a meetup group for organizing meetups.

As of February 2023, there are two active groups in the community.

Adult ILFurs 18+ SFW is the largest group (~170 members) to date, opened by Tzell on October 19th, 2019. It is co-owned by Roy Otter and Arnavi.

Another Telegram group, Israeli Furs - 18+ SFW (~100 members), was opened on February 7th, 2023, by Kovuah. It is administered by Kovuah, Kip, and Moss.

Discord[edit]

Several discord servers were created for the community.

The largest and most active server to date, accounting 127 members is owned by the Adult ILFurs, with dozens of members on voice chat daily.

The first one which was created by Karleo and Kyubimon was abandoned due to inactivity, and later integrated with another server to create a new community - Israeli Furs, owned by Pumpkin.

Steam[edit]

As of July 2023, there are two Steam groups that currently exist, but they are inactive, with no recent activity. The gaming community has shifted its communication and interactions to the Discord servers, making them the primary platforms for gaming-related discussions and activities.

The largest group accounting 175 members, owned by Jazzing

The second group accounting 44 members, owned by Crazy Wolf

Facebook[edit]

A Facebook community named Israel Furry Fandom was discovered by a member of a Telegram group around 2017-2018, many of the members decided to migrate to the original Telegram Group.

Amino[edit]

Several Amino communities were established for the Israeli Furs, but despite their creation, none of them achieved significant success or growth.

As a result, these communities eventually decided to migrate their activities and members to platforms like Telegram and Discord, where they found more engagement and opportunities for interaction within the Israeli Furs community.

IRC[edit]

The main Israeli Furs IRC channel was on AnthroChat. It was disbanded circa 2016 when there was big movement toward Telegram, and lack of interest in IRC. There was also an IRC channel on FurNet, but it was disbanded due to lack of interest.

Websites[edit]

Several websites were dedicated to serving the Israel Furs community. These platforms were established to provide a space for members to connect, share information, and engage in various activities related to their interests in the furry fandom. The websites might have offered forums, event listings, art galleries, and other resources to foster a sense of community among Israeli furries. Over time, the success and popularity of these websites may have varied, but their existence showcased the diverse ways in which the Israel Furs community thrived online.

Israel Furries[edit]

The Israeli Furries website was initiated by Skie Nightfall in 2008 and maintained by IceDragon.

In current time, the website needs fixing due to an HTTPS feature from the host which glitched the configuration of the website; and the website itself being outdated.

An archive of the website can be accessed through WayBackMachine to mimic what the website once looked like.

ILFurs Forums[edit]

An Israeli Furs member named Simba opened up a forum that was active from around June 2016 to August 2017.

However, the forums did not gain much popularity, which led to inactivity, and the website was eventually shut down.

An archive of the website can be viewed with the help of WayBackMachine.

Israeli Furries[edit]

Israeli Furries is a website founded by Kovuah which holds information about the Israeli Furry community and provides links to social groups and servers.

The website features a language toggle between Hebrew and English, and will feature mascots in the future.

Kovuah is also responsible for maintaining Israel's FurAffinity group page, which serves a similar purpose of keeping a list of groups and providing information about the Israeli Furs community.

Furries.co.il[edit]

Furries.co.il is a website founded by Jazzing with the aim of making information about the furry fandom more accessible. The platform provides valuable links to furry Telegram groups, enabling members to easily join various communities within the fandom. Additionally, the website offers information about upcoming meetups, serving as a convenient resource for Israeli Furs to stay informed about local events and gatherings.

Events[edit]

IL Furmeets[edit]

The IL Furmeets group stands as the largest and only active telegram group for events within the Israeli Furs community. This group provides a platform for members to organize their own meetups and gatherings, encouraging a sense of community engagement and interaction. Additionally, the administration occasionally takes the initiative to host larger-scale events for the community.

Villa Furmeet 2022[edit]

The villa furmeet was an event that took place on October 31st, 2022, being the biggest furmeet that occurred to date, boasting 47 attendees. The meet was held in a large villa in the city of Hadera, Israel. It spanned over 2 days, and the activities included Dungeons and Dragons, a pool party, a Fursuit 101 lecture, a large group dinner and a Halloween party. The event was organized by the Adult ILfurs staff, Roy Otter, Arnavi, and Hoot Minerva acting as the event finance manager.

Villa Furmeet 2023[edit]

Another villa meetup has been announced to take place on October 31st, 2023. This event has already reached a record-breaking 60 participants and sold out within just 5 minutes of registration opening. However, due to the Israel-Hamas War, the villa meetup was postponed until further notice.
