IndyFurCon 2019
IndyFurCon 2019 was the tenth instance of the IndyFurCon convention. It was held August 23-25, 2019 at the Indianapolis Marriott East in Indianapolis, Indiana.[1]
The convention's theme was "Hawai'iFC!". EARPS was again the convention charity, continuing their association that had been established the previous year.[1] The guests of honor were initially announced to be Serathin and Jib Kodi.[2] In July 2019, it was announced that Jib Kodi would not be attending the convention;[3][4] however, the convention still lists him as having been a guest of honor that year.[1]
In June 2019 (about two months before the convention), criticism against the IFC board of directors and specifically against Director of Programming Huscoon arose due to their invitation of 2 Gryphon to be included in special con events as part of a scheme to bring back prior years' guests for the con's 10th anniversary. This led to a number of would-be performers, including Boozy Badger and Xanni The Blue, announcing that they would not attend the convention.[5][6][7] It also appeared to be the cause of Jib Kodi's decision not to attend.[8] The board of directors later announced that 2 was no longer scheduled to attend the convention,[9] and in September 2019, they issued a further apology over the situation.[10]
There were 1475 attendees at IFC 2019, 331 of which were fursuiters. $20,001.96 was raised for charity during the convention.[1]
