Indonesian Railfurs, or shortened to IRS, is a social group for furries who love Indonesian trains.

Indonesian Railfurs was founded on 2 January, 2022, on the initiative of Refina Mahdavian and Agna Ihsan, which was based on the enthusiasm of Indonesian furries who like railways in Indonesia. IRS started its first on the WhatsApp platform and then began to expand its reach by inviting furries who were interested in railways.[1]
General[edit]
The IRS has succeeded in being a structured, long-lasting, organized community. This community is managed by 4 administrators. A very distinctive difference in organising gathering events from this community is an event that combines two concepts, railway and furry theme. The result of the combination of these two concepts is a furmeet gathering event on the train aka. Train Joyride.
The IRS does not restrict normal furries who are not interested in trains. This community is centered on the WhatsApp platform where there is a lot of interaction between other Furry Railfans. The IRS group has several platforms: WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord. Most of the members are active on WhatsApp because many IRS member audiences only have WhatsApp accounts
Gathering[edit]
IRS successfully held its first gathering event in August 2022 at a cafe named Loko Cafe in Malioboro, Yogyakarta, which became known as IRS 1. This event was attended by approximately 50 participants from Yogyakarta, Solo and surrounding areas.
IRS also successfully held its 2nd furry gathering at the Railway Coffee Station in Bandung on November 6 2022. This event was attended by approximately 20 people. This event consists of a Joyride and several minigames.
On July 29 2023, the IRS held a fur meet event which was not successful in being carried out perfectly due to complex problems, starting with one of the admin staff who lied that he was a KAI train driver which ended up not taking place at the event.
