Forgive this wiki novice, but I couldn't find any way to add to the discussion page on the "Furry Sprirituality" page. There was no link to add or edit on the discussion page. Nor did I see anything about this on the help page, or in the sandbox.

You just have to click edit on it, like any other page. :-) --GreenReaper(talk)

I borrowed some of your excellent Help Content for our so far nonexistent Help Pages on the RPG Wikia. I hope you don't mind! KainNiemand 15:11, 4 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Improving the help index[edit]

The help index are mostly written towards editors, but I think readers could use some help too.

[09:30] <Kakurady> Recently one of the curators just resolved an issue with private personal info of someone I'm a fan of.

[09:31] <GreenReaper> That's good, right? >_>

[09:31] <Kakurady> I'm looking at the help index, and there's nothing obvious on that page about how a biography subject would request help on personal info.

[09:32] <Kakurady> He ended up getting a friend contact WikiFur on Twitter.

[09:35] <GreenReaper> Ideally they might go to policies and then end up at http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/WikiFur:Policies_and_guidelines#Exclusion_of_information which has a link to http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/WikiFur:Personal_exclusion

[09:35] <GreenReaper> The latter doesn't mention specifically that edit history can be removed, I guess.

[09:35] <Kakurady> Yeah, but there's nothing in the help index to point them in that direction.

[09:37] <Kakurady> I'm thinking something like this: https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/User:Kakurady/Help:Contents

[09:37] <GreenReaper> Well, no, because we a) don't really *want* the first thing people to do to be request excusion and b) it's mostly for the purpose of editors, not readers or subjects.

[09:39] <Kakurady> You've got a point. This kind of thing should ususally be caught in the RC.

[09:39] <Kakurady> Still, I think the help index could be clearer.

[09:39] <GreenReaper> I do think it's reasonable to introduce more information for readers, and to consider them as an audience.

[09:40] <GreenReaper> What we don't want is people getting into cycles of editing stuff and having it replaced because they didn't do it in a way editors will accept. Proper curator intervention should prevent that, but sometimes it doesn't happen that way.

[09:41] <GreenReaper> So refactoring the help pages to poke people in the right way, either for editing or for getting help, may be beneficial.

[09:42] <GreenReaper> (And sometimes people don't know how to rename an article about themselves or suchlike, which actually isn't easy if you're a new user.)

So I'm taking a stab at reshuffling the help contents. Let me know what you think. -Kakurady (talk) 09:54, 26 August 2016 (EDT)
