Heat on the Serengeti MUCK (or Heat on the Serengeti or HotS for short) is an adults-only wildlife-themed MUCK based very loosely upon Disney's 'The Lion King'. Unlike The Lion King MUCK, characters on HotS may engage in consensual TinySex freely in any area of the game world; acts where the characters do not consent but the players of said characters do are also permitted.
The MUCK was launched in mid October 2009. As such, its current incarnation is very "rules light"; the only hard and utterly unbendable rule is that all players must be 18 years or older. Misrepresenting one's real-life age in this regard is grounds for an immediate and permanent ban. Generally speaking, however, only universal etiquette applies, with players urged to "use common sense and good judgement, [and] treat other people with respect." Failing this the administration reserve the right to remove and/or ban "anyone who makes life miserable for other players".

Characters[edit]
Characters on HotS must be non-morphic, although possess a heightened intelligence and awareness (much like the creatures found in The Lion King) along with the ability to all speak a common language. Although physically animals (with animal reproductive strategies such as going on heat) they have sex for pleasure, fall in love, have any sexual orientation they wish, become jealous and enjoy monogamy or polyamory as they please.
History[edit]
Although the player base is small, many users consider Heat on the Serengeti the spiritual successor to Romance in the Savannah MUCK; a muck with an almost identical theme which closed when the administration staff could not locate proper hosting. An inability to advertise on The Lion King MUCK due to rules prohibiting advertising of adult-themed MUCKs has led to few people finding Heat on the Serengeti, and the user base has remained small, with an all-time high of 11 users connected at one time, but a typical roster of online users is zero to two or three.
As of mid-October 2016, the MUCK has been down.
