Georgiafurs.com is a furry site that caters to the general furry population in the U.S. state of Georgia.

History[edit]

Georgiafurs.com was founded in October 20, 2003 by Kiran Lightpaw, Tiger Paw and and a number of the Atlanta-area furs.

Downtime and FLORA[edit]

After an attack caused by a flaw in the message board software, the site went down in March 2005. The intermittent downtime of the forum forced otherwise active members in other parts of Georgia and nearby locales in surrounding states (Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, and South Carolina), to use the FLORA (Furry List Of Regional Atlanta) mailing list, which was primarily focused around the furry population of the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Due to an overwhelming influx of applicants to FLORA, some locals that were unable to join started another Yahoo group called the Atlanta Regional Furry List (ARFlist).

In early 2009, following an intense debate,[clarify] the FLORA mailing list was deleted.

Relaunch[edit]

On July 1 2009, the Georgia Furs site underwent an ownership and software change, with Georgiafurs.com's URL temporarily being redirected to Georgiafurs.furryweekend.com as a testing address before launching on back as Georgiafurs.com, with new coding and an improved design.

The old Georgiafurs.com's message board was forked[clarify] into Georgiafurs.net, and is no longer associated with the present site.

Forums shut down[edit]

On January 1st, 2017, the forum's portion of the site was shut down, redirecting all users instead to use the site's Telegram group.
