I've been noticing a trend that I find kind of concerning. This isn't in reference to anything from the past days or hours, but something I've noticed in the past few months or so.
- Blocking for tone / formatting errors. Even I can forget formatting rules and code, or get excited and use the wrong tone. If I were a heavy editor, those errors would stack up, and I don't believe that curators are only using blocking as a last resort after trying to work with good faith editors.
- First offense blocking. For these edits, yes they are not good, and have to be reverted. But they are the first offense from the person. Maybe they are curious but didn't realize their edits would actually go live. It could be the first step in a new helpful editor.
- Extreme blocks. Like indefinite or year blocks. Or "can't edit own talk page", "email disabled", so they can't appeal their block. Also, extreme blocks could hit an entire furry household, or the Wifi at a furry convention. Don't get me wrong, I realize there are spammers or raids, and sometimes you need to go straight to the most extreme measures.

- The only person I can recall who was blocked for incorrect formatting was Missisabella, who was worked with by a number of curators of a period of several months and multiple accounts, including a time-consuming breakdown of what she was failing to do in the dozens of articles about people she created, as well as creating articles with false information. Ultimately she was blocked for refusing to even talk to curators about the issues when asked to repeatedly and informed how to do so. --Equivamp - talk 19:59, 3 May 2017 (EDT)
- I'm having the same kind of impression as well. Like blocking an editor without account for 1 month, for creating an article with the content "butts". That's not an appropriate response towards someone who may just want to test out what editing an "encyclopedia written by the Furry community" is like. Though I want to stress that not everything did by this curator was problematic, their treatment of other edits were more lenient. --Kakurady (talk) 20:07, 3 May 2017 (EDT)
