Flippant Moniker

Flippant Moniker, also known as Orc Dad and Nicholas, is a Texas, USA-based furry author and artist.

Fandom involvement

Flippant Moniker started a podcast novel project in 2008 called Piggy Moto, which concluded in 2011 when Fur Planet picked it up for publication in paperback and e-format. While the author wrote two sequels to the original novel, he never fully revised or edited either manuscript, so they remain unpublished.

He got married in 2013 to a furry musician who helped him complete the Piggy Moto project, and they remain married to this day.

In August of 2020, Flippant Moniker began streaming on Twitch as a game streamer, but technical difficulties knocked him offline for several months. He returned as a variety streamer in April 2021, and broadcast to a modest audience of LGBTQIA+ artists and creators. At that time, a number of his community members took to calling him OrcDad, in reference to a character he portrayed on TikTok while making fantasy cooking videos.

As of 2022, Flippant Moniker continues to stream his art and game-dev projects on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday schedule.

Character

Flippant Moniker's character is a fantasy Western dragon with the same name. It sports a body design of purple, gold, and green, whose colors are based on semi-precious stones, Amethyst, Amber, and Green Garnet.

He is an "omnivorous imaginatiophage", a being that subsists mostly by sipping the dreams, imaginations, and inspirations of others. As far as mundane foods go, he is most fond of seafood, cheese, pasta, and strong cocktails.
