Dreamwalk Journal is a CG webcomic by Ed Kline and Kishma Danielle. Originally appearing in May 2005, the comic went on hiatus in October 2007 and the original site eventually went offline. Kline and Danielle subsequently began a sequel, The Widow, which after a short time was relaunched and slightly retconned as Nightshade the Merry Widow. In November 2014 Nightshade went on hiatus to allow for a re-run of the original Dreamwalk Journal story, with many of the panels posted at larger size, occasionally interrupted by readers' Q&A strips. In August 2015 Chapter 3 of the re-run was interrupted by the addition of new scenes that had been plotted but not drawn during the original run. This ended in 2016. The original, incomplete Chapter 4 was subsequently re-run on Timblr, and later on the main site.

The story was originally accompanied by text pages by Danielle, entitled "Danny's Journal", which expanded upon the main storyline. As of 2020 a repost of these pages is still pending.

Synopsis[edit]

Danny and Fleur, two young women from 21st century Earth, "dreamwalk" via astral projection to the planet Cyeatea, naked apart from sneakers and Fleur's baseball cap. Cyeatea is home to a lush three-dimensional forest inhabited by numerous species of anthropomorphic insects and spiders, equally naked apart from waistbelts which they consider necessary for their decency, and possessing human-style (and universally compatible) sexual organs. As the comic progresses Danny and Fleur befriend many of these natives, who help them avoid natural dangers and teach them about their society, in which species prey upon each other non-lethally but always erotically.
