Deep Love - Pao no Monogatari is a manga written by Yoshii Yuu as part of his Deep Love manga series. It was published by Kodansha in 2005.
The book stars a puppy character named Pao, and opens when his mother is found, wandering the streets with a barbed wire cutting into her neck. Two girls end up taking her to a vet's, then adopting her. After which, she soon gives birth to a litter. Because of harsh times and conditions, they had to abandon the dogs and hope for the best for them. Pao faces a lot of difficulties, and sees not most of the harsh realities of being a stray and the side of man's darker ways, but also experiences kindness from individuals along the way. Through most of it, he manages to hold onto his small faith.
