Coltyn, also known as ColtynPhD or Dr. Coltyn, (born March 26, 1991 in the state of New York) is a biomedical scientist that received his doctor of philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in December 2020. [1]. Currently, he lives in Maryland in the DMV area.

He currently does research involving the eye at the level of the retina and retinal pigment epithelium.

Fandom Involvement[edit]

Coltyn has been in the furry fandom officially since 2021, but has always had an interest in anthropomorphic media since childhood.

He is currently a staff member for the Top Dogs [2] podcast. He also is a team member on the Furality [3] team, currently serving as a member of the writing team.

Occasionally when accepted into convention programming, he hosts STEM meetups and panels that focus on content creation. While not a content creator himself, Coltyn does panel moderation at the professional scientific level and wants to highlight the content creator he knows so people can be inspired to be content creators themselves.

Fursonas[edit]

Coltyn's primary fursona is a male horse [4]. This sona reflects his scientific side and while can be very serious, he can be quite a silly hoss at times.

His secondary fursona is an male otter [5] that reflects Coltyn's silly and fun side, in particular when he is surrounded by friends and people he cares a lot about
