Distributor category?[edit]

Would it be ok to add a Distributor category? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.85.26.49 (talkcontribs) .

This might sound stupid, but can you elaborate what exactly a "distributor" is, and how it differs from a "vendor"? --Dmuth 20:22, 20 Nov 2005 (UTC)
I think difference is some businesses in Vendors category only sell their own creations, while a distributor sells stuff by various companies. --EarthFurst 20:17, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
The term "Distributor" often describes companies that only sell to vendors and not to end-users. I suggest a finding better word should this proposal be accepted. --Suran 11:35, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

re-word?[edit]

What do people think of changing the description of Vendors category? Perhaps change "specifically geared for furries" to "of interest to furries"? --EarthFurst 02:42, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. Or, since of interest of furries can be assumed from presence on WikiFur, something along the lines of "Vendors are companies that sell products such as toys, comics, and prints." -- Sine 23:38, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
