Beyond the Softness of His Fur is a novel by TammyJo Eckhart, and is "A tale of genetics, sex, and love between an owner and her anthropomorphic pet."[1] It was launched through Circlet Press in June 2011.[2]
The story is about Emily Potter, a newly promoted advertising executive in a future society. As part of her new social status, she is expected to purchase a "morph" as a companion, status symbol and sexual servant. She selects a male anthropomorphic white fox whom she names Wynn, and finds out he is much smarter than he lets on.
