AlkalineArts, or Kal (Born 1994), is an online furry artist and published writer from New Zealand.

They joined the furry fandom in 2012 using a different name, however they left the fandom in 2017 due to creative burnout, only returning in late 2021 under the name AlkalineArts.

Fursona[edit]

Kal

AlkalineArts fursona is a Noaia named Kal, or Kalivani, a species they created which are described as being a blend of a chupacabra, a bat, and a panther. They use Noaia as their main species featured in their art, although they draw several characters of their own which are other species.

Kal is a shaman from the 1500s who gained the ability to hop between different dimensions after encountering a shard of a trapped elder god within the ice of his arctic homeland, leaving his mind almost destroyed and cursing him to always draw hungry otherworldly entities to him from outside of the universe. This led to him leaving his home world after he recovered his mind, and he has been travelling ever since, now being somewhere between 400-600 years old, although he claims he doesn't remember his exact age.

Writing[edit]

AlkalineArts has published two novels, however, they do not publicly reveal their pseudonym or connect their fandom identity to their published works.

In the furry fandom they publish stories about their characters, often exploring the trouble lives led by many of them and showing their growth through their struggles and pain.
