The AWOO Association (full Anthro West Open Organization) is a small collective of furries and non-furries that host social and fundraising events in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA area.

Fandom Involvement[edit]

The group's main purpose for existing is to host fun and safe local and online fundraising events for furs and non-furs alike to come together and support a charity. They support Safari's Sanctuary, which is a private exotic animal sanctuary and 501(c)(3) organization located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

History[edit]

In late 2020, the group became officially incorporated as an Oklahoma state non-profit organization[1] - making the group name officially Anthro West Open Organization, Inc. The group now has a Board of Directors and Organizational Officers to oversee the group's operations henceforth.

In early 2021, the AWOO Association became a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity organization.[2]

In a Facebook post on February 1, 2024 the AWOO Association Board of Directors announced the resignation of the convention's chair and organization's president, PeaceWolf, and the indefinitely postponement of the Free Fur All convention. The Board of Directors also announced the re-branding and restructuring of both the convention and the organization itself.[3]
