Butch is a web-comic about a dog named Ed, a cat named Tom and the story of how they live their lives day by day; as seen in the production of the comic, Officially, there are nine episodes, but there are various other events that does not connect to the story and can be a stand-alone comic strip by itself, there are also 4 extra episodes that puts Book 1 with Book 2 together, for continuity reasons.
The main story focuses on the Island of Kana, here a mysterious wave events are happening and The main protagonists are forced to stop the evil before it's to late.
Much like the cartoons of the 1980's and 90'a, Butch is seen like a children's television program, with the typical falling anvils, acme-like products and exlpoding cigars, many of the elements and styer can remind the viewer of how it was like back then; while it has a timid look to it, it was also mixed with real life situation, as some characters have happy and sad moments, it even goes so far as to have adult parts which some may find crude and vulgar but this is just simply how life is seen by the creater.

Locations
In the world where the main protagonists live in is much like earth, although it isn't said by any of the characters, the name planet is formally known as Kana and some consider it a small world (as in half the size of earth).
As Ed and Tom travel around to many places in the comic, they usually go to areas with some kind of variation that tell each other apart from the rest, when they begin their adventure, they start in the town of Momo (or 'Little Town) in english, and they make there way to Big City, while doing so they go to places like a farm, a corporation, and even an olden Castle.

| A Letter for You | Ed has strong feeling for Tom and to show he cares, he wants to write a letter to him, the only problem is, is that he doesn't know what to write, so he gets help from his friends. | 4 |
| This way to Fate | Tom figures out a possible way to get to the cause of the evil roots but they have a long way to go, they first make their way into the dark tunnel which causes a them to wake giant monster, he begins to attack them; Suddenly Tom is filled with fear but It's time for Ed to use his sword and shield once again to do get the job done. | 5 |
| And we Continue On... | Our heroes reach the end of the dungeon and they find the light there, after the battle, they rest for a while and during that time, they begin to learn more about each other. | 6 |
| Battle: Dark Wizard | Losing faith in himself and feeling useless during the monster battle, Tom becomes depressed and soon feels the need to slit up from Ed in fear he could be hurt because of him, an evil magician then appear at the point where he tells Ed his plans, and he is forced to dig deep down and bring his courage out. | 7 |
