In Character is a term used in role playing games to refer to things done in accordance with the game that's being played. By extension, it can mean actions consistent with the established situation.

For example, a player in a RPG talking in character will speak as the character they're playing, and not as the real life person. Some games require players to speak in character, so Out Of Character actions such as discussing the game's interface should be done in some other way.
