Art trade

Art trade is a term used to describe the act when two artists make drawings for each other, as a part of an pre-arranged trade.

Usually, an art trade works as a regular commission, but instead of paying the other party with money they are paid with a drawing from the commissioner. Commonly, art trades are treated as regular commissions, meaning that both involved parties can make requests on what they would like to see drawn.

Artists exchanging gift art is not strictly percieved as an art trade. Even though both recieve a custom image from the other, at least one artist didn't have the option to request.
