Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa

Popular, but short lived
Originally aired September 18th, 1992 on the American Broadcasting Channel (ABC), C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa because a Saturday Morning success story from the producers of TMNT. The television show was meant as a booster for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line, with popularity being seen in the high ratings. Why the series was cut was due to a merger between ABC and Disney in 1994. It was rebroadcast on the Disney cable network (Toon Disney) until 2001.
The Mesa
The show suggests that a meteor with radioactive properties hit the mesa, then 'evolved' the living beings there in a cloud coving the area. There is not alot to go on in terms of the process, but simply that they arrive at the point where they are emulating thier human counterparts. They dress, behave, and think for the period of time, yet do not have concrete answers for some finite aspects. Should this occur, they try as best as they can to fill in for missing information with loose data and what they already know.

The Dakota Dude/Dakota
The main three characters were the staple in the series, the comic books, and the toy line. Montana always led the way, Cowlarado was the young gun, and Dakota was reserved. Thier goal in the life of the series was to protect the "Code of the West"/C.O.W., and to defend the small western town from the two major gangs:the Wild Wild Bullies and the Gila Hooligans. They did have side adventures, not many because of the length of the show, but things that would further develop thier character and give some idea to what the moral of the story was.
Main Villians
Sheriff Terrorbull/The Masked Bull: The Sheriff of Moo Mesa that protects the town, but really is the masked bull who causes the trouble in the town. Some how eludes the heros with the 'Clark Kent/Superman' trick.
Mayor Oscar Bulloney: mayor of Moo Mesa. Gives children a true to life idea on how a politician works, or at least the part about them bending the rules in thier favor.
Over Merchandising
Hasbro probably had the most fun (and most success) with thier super deformed cowboys line. However, it didn't stop with action figures. Figures, playsets, vehicles, inflatables, lunch boxes, underwear, dental hygeine products such as toothbrushes, watches, safety scissors, sunglasses, fruit snacks (do NOT eat), and other various toys were made available and in force for the holiday seasons of 1992 and 1993. Many of which can be found on internet auction sites such as eBay for, well, cheap. The real goldmine for collecting in this field would be finding the VHS tapes that made the series a hit.
Current Events
"First airing on Saturday, August 12 of 2006, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Foward's third episode involved young Cody O'Neill's Robodojo being taken over by a living computer virus. The Robodojo was similar to the Danger Room in Marvel's X-Men, generating holographic settings and characters to interact with. In this third episode, the virus created a wild west setting, which featured several characters and settings from the Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa television series." -wikipedia
