Thomas Burnett Swann (October 12 1928 - May 5 1976) was an American poet, critic and fantasy author.

Many of his fantasy novels feature mythological beings combining human and animal characteristics. These include centaurs, satyrs and even half-insectile races. Possibly his most notable creation is a race of minotaurs with more human-like characteristics than the classical Greek description.
