The Great Auk is a novel written by Allan W. Eckert. Little, Brown & Company first published the novel in 1963.

Eckert wrote a similar novel about the last individual of a species: The Silent Sky: The Incredible Extinction of the Passenger Pigeon, which was published in 1965.
