Hello Equivamp,
Please be aware that if things need shifting around, it should be done using the "Move" tab rather than by cutting and pasting. The problem with just cutting and pasting the old content into a new page is that the article's old edit history is lost, and we prefer to retain that.--Higgs Raccoon 08:21, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Redirects

Regarding your recommendations on Warrior Cats and Fangirl, I've put those redirects in place. As a side note, you don't need to put it up for a vote. If you feel such redirects are warranted, by all means go ahead and put them in. Be Bold! --GingerM (Leave me a message) 02:25, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

I wouldn't know how....

File:Kung_fu_panda_promotional_poster.jpg

Hello Equivamp,

This is in regards to File:Kung_fu_panda_promotional_poster.jpg. It has not been tagged with a copyright status. This can be a complicated area, so I can try to help if you need any. The Wikipedia Image use policy may give some background, but it isn't policy here.

To deal with this image, there are a few choices:

  • If you are the copyright holder, release it under a free license, for example:
  • If you are asserting that this image is usable under fair use, add an appropriate fair use tag. A very basic summary is that fair use is used for commentary, criticism and review on the image when no free image could be used instead. Some fair use tags are:
    • Logos: {{logo}}
    • Covers: {{Cover}}
    • Comic panels: {{Comic-panel}}
  • If the image is already under a free license, provide information on the license, and tag the image if you can.
  • If you would like the image to be deleted, ask any administrator

To see a list of current copyright tags available on WikiFur, see Category:Image copyright tags If the copyright status is not resolved, the image may be deleted.

Unless you have a question for me specifically, you should respond on the page for the image. --GingerM (Leave me a message) 20:02, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Friend of Wolfee

I am a friend of Wolfee and if you need any help I am available too

Well, they were questions involving the YouTube Furry War. If you have any information on that, I'd love to ask you some questions.

Categories

Hi Equivamp,

I made those changes to Categories to follow our policy in what categories we put on: more precise rather than broad. Help:Categories has more details. -- Sine 23:14, 28 April 2011 (EDT)

I saw that, but undid it and made similar changes. Don't know why I was in hybrid groups, so I removed myself from those instead(I'm not a hybrid) Equivamp 14:47, 29 April 2011 (EDT)

Thanks!

I didn't actually know how to do the thumbnail thing. ^_^ Flynn

Referencing

Hello, GreenReaper, since you have not responded to my email, I am assuming that either it did not go through, or you did not notice it. However, you can disregard it now, as I am going to ask here: How do I add references to articles? Particularly, references to websites? --Equivamp 19:30, 4 May 2011 (EDT)

I responded on the 19th to your email account on file, from the Hotmail address starting with my nickname. Perhaps you should check your bulk mail?
Here is the relevant section of my reply:
Basically:
* put '<ref>....whatever...</ref>' on the line that contains the information
backed up by the reference (typically after punctuation like full stops or
possibly commas)
* put '<references />' (or something like {{reflist|2}} ) where you want the
references to appear
* If you have something that is the reference for multiple things in
different areas of the article, use '<ref name="abc">...</ref>' the first
time, and just '<ref name="abc" />' the other times
* [Advanced] If you want two or more sets of references and footnotes, add '
group="whatever" ' inside the ref and references tags for that group.
More detailed help is available at Wikipedia:Help:Footnotes and Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Citing sources#How to format and place citations. --GreenReaper(talk) 21:28, 4 May 2011 (EDT)

Anyway?

Is there any reason why my edits were undone? Considering i look at the talk page saying i needed to trim or delete. considering there was a heck of a lot of links posted that i though were already posted on the article just wanted to trim it down to just the more important ones. --Tridragon 15:10, 7 May 2011 (EDT)

My apologies. I did not realize this.

Thank you!

Thank you for fixing the Category link on Twitter. I wasn't sure how to do that. --Equivamp 12:05, 14 May 2011 (EDT)

Not a problem! It works like that for a lot of things, category links (Category:Bat characters), media links (File:Alexgrey.png), language links (ru:WikiFur), etc. — beeps (talk, contribs) 12:08, 14 May 2011 (EDT)

Welcome reply

Hi Equivamp, and thanks for the welcome. There's now a little background on my user page.

Unfortunately my other edits seem rather less welcome and they've already been blanked. Wow, and I thought Wikipedia was bitey! Andy Dingley 18:11, 16 May 2011 (EDT)

I totally just realized...

That little sprite thing that appears when you hover your mouse over an "edit section" button...that's a norn, isn't it? Equivamp 01:07, 28 May 2011 (EDT)

Yep! They followed me here from the Creatures Wiki. --GreenReaper(talk) 01:08, 28 May 2011 (EDT)
I figured as much. I wish I were awesome enough to play that game. Equivamp 01:09, 28 May 2011 (EDT)

Image censorship vs. click-to-show

WikiFur is not censored for minors. I am personally open to the option of having certain images hidden by default, which I believe is implemented by the Russian WikiFur. I'll ask EvilCat about that. --GreenReaper(talk) 17:32, 28 May 2011 (EDT)

Please do. It's one thing to read about such when it's encyclopedic material--it's another entirely to see it plastered onto pages. If I came here for porn, I'd search, well, anything on FurAffinity. Equivamp 17:35, 28 May 2011 (EDT)

Scientific inaccuracies

Hello Equivamp, First off I'd like to apologise for that ridiculous title and removal of information. I was somewhat enraged by the information displayed on the Dinosaur page, but am way too tired and busy to fully organise it for the next week or so. I'll very quickly outline a little bit about myself so you can see where I'm coming from. My name is Palaeofox and I'm a Palaeobiology and Evolution graduate from The University of Portsmouth, England (hence the English spelling of Palaeo and the numerous 's's instead of 'z's.). I'm just organising my PhD in Palaeontology, which I will spend the next three years completing... So, relative to the majority of the furry fandom, I know an aweful lot about the subject of Palaeontology, Geology, Mass Extinction Events, Diversification Events and general Evolution. Almost every line on that page is, to put it bluntly, wrong and I intend to correct it to prevent the spread of misinformation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Palaeofox (talkcontribs) .

That's fine--that was my suggestion in the first place. I'm far too lazy to even read the dinosaur article myself and I wouldn't be any help anyway (all my knowledge comes from the Discovery Channel) so it would be wonderful to have it written by somebaosy that actually knows what he's talking about. However, simply removing the content is frowned upon, and your title would have been better placed on the talk page of the article. Also, remember to sign your posts on talk pages by tying four tildes (~). Equivamp 20:22, 29 May 2011 (EDT)

Features

The current structure of the front page requires that pages be created each week. The community may select and promote new featured content at any time - unfortunately, doing so does not appear to be high up on anyone's priority list (including my own). Part of the problem is that we have many adequate articles, but few examples of polished work. Preparing even one article for the front page can easily take an hour or two once you've sorted out all the issues. --GreenReaper(talk) 00:15, 30 May 2011 (EDT)

Account control

Users are assumed to be responsible for all edits from their account. I suggest logging out and avoiding the storage of passwords if you do not control the computer that you are on. You might review your Special:Contributions/past contributions if you are concerned that it may have been used without your knowledge. --GreenReaper(talk) 16:51, 30 May 2011 (EDT)

Thanks. I'll catch it all eventually. I'll be sure to do that when I get to the computer I make most of my edits on. He shouldn't be making anymore edits from this account, I've made sure of that.

What links here

Greetings, and thanks for your all of your contributions to WikiFur.

Whenever you change an article or a redirect to disambig page, as you did today with ShadowFox, don't forget to check "What links here" (under toolbox in the left column) to see what other articles may be linking to it, and if necessary, update the links in those articles. --mwalimu 16:53, 3 June 2011 (EDT)

I Saw What You Did There

Instigating trouble by making personal attacks on me offsite shows just how much an apology from you is worth, and does not reflect well on your ability as a Wikifur Admin. —Xydexx 16:35, 6 June 2011 (EDT)
