RivFur

RivFur is a large-scale furmeet held annually in early July in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia that was originally created and organised by FlameDrake. The present day organisers are Foxy Malone and Nikita Wolfpaw. The name "RivFur" is derived from the Brisbane River that sprawls through the city.

The event has seen steady growth, with roughly 30 to 40 people attending in 2007, 40 to 50 in 2008 and over 50 in 2009. RivFur's dates for 2010 are Friday July 9 to Sunday July 11.

Friday, July 6

• 4pm BBQ at South Bank Piazza.
• 7pm Transformers movie at South Bank cinemas.

Saturday, July 7

• 9am trip to the Australia Zoo.
• 6:30 dinner at Southside RSL, Mount Gravatt.

Sunday, July 8

• Morning left free for personal recreation. Suggestion of mini golf.
• 7pm Laser tag at Woolloongabba Laserforce.

Monday, July 9

• 10am chocolate making classes at Mount Gravatt PCYC run by AussieHusky.
• 4:30pm bowling at Greenslopes AMF Bowling Alley.

2008

Friday, July 4

• 6pm BBQ at South Bank Piazza.

Saturday, July 5

• 10am trip to Movie World.
• 7pm FurBall at Mansfield Tavern.

Sunday, July 6

• 11:30am Scavenger Hunt at Brisbane City Bontanical Gardens. Alternative activities include South Bank Markets and an art jam at the Scavenger Hunt finishing point.
• 7pm Laser tag at Woolloongabba Laserforce.

2009

• 11am Indoor rockclimbing at RockSports. Alternative activity, The Sciencentre located at the QLD Museum.
• 7pm FurBall at Mansfield Tavern.

2010

Friday, July 9

• 5pm BBQ/Picnic at South Bank Piazza. Fursuiting allowed. Cost: Free, but BYO food/drink.
• Evening movie at South Bank Cinemas. Cost: Adults $8.50 Students $6.50.

Saturday, July 10

• 12pm Indoor rockclimbing at RockSports. Cost: $16. Alternative activity, 11am at Brisbane Botanical Gardens front gate for a Scavenger Hunt.
• 6pm FurBall at Mansfield Tavern. $5 entry fee. Fursuiting allowed. Underage attendees welcome.

Sunday, July 11

• 10am trip to Seaworld. Departing Brisbane at 9:00am. Cost: $71.95 Adults, Children (4-13yrs inclusive) $46.95

Merchandise

2007

• RivFur 2007 t-shirts were designed by FoxyMalone and incorporate the RivFur logo on the back, plus a mascot design by MistyStriker on the front. Both the colour of the t-shirt and the ink could be chosen from a list. T-shirt cost was $25.
• For those who sent an RSVP before a certain date and provided a character description, miniature chibi con-badges were drawn and coloured in a collaborative effort by MistyStriker and Bingo Dingo.

2008

• RivFur 2008 t-shirts were designed by FoxyMalone and had the revamped RivFur logo on the back, plus a black-and-white mascot picture by Rose Quoll on the front. The shirt colour could also be chosen from a list, and people could pay an extra fee to get a name embroidered on the sleeve. T-shirt cost is $25.
• Those who registered before a certain date and provided character information, RivFur ID cards were drawn and coloured by MistyStriker and Bingo Dingo.

• RivFur 2009 t-shirts were designed by FoxyMalone and had the RivFur logo on the back, plus a gold lineart mascot picture by Bingo Dingo on the front. The shirt colour could also be chosen from a list. T-shirt cost was $25.
• Those who registered before a certain date and provided character information, RivFur keyrings were drawn, coloured and manufactured by MistyStriker and Bingo Dingo.

2010

• The RivFur 2010 t-shirt front picture will be drawn by Nikita Wolfpaw. More info TBA.
• The RivFur 2010 attendance goodies will once again be drawn and coloured by MistyStriker and Bingo Dingo. The theme will most likely be chibi badges.
