The Mongoose is a form of land mammal found in Africa and Eurasia, although they can also be found in southernmost Europe, the Caribbean, and Hawaii as an introduced species.
Mongooses are known for their ability to kill snakes, particularly cobras, and are sometimes kept as pets to control vermin, although their destructive nature has meant that it is illegal to import particular species of mongoose into certain countries.[1]
