A biped is any character on two legs. It is very common for anthropomorphic and zoomorphic characters to be bipedal.

Some animals that walk on two legs, especially if they do so with upright posture, have plantigrade stances (primates, bears) instead of digitigrade (kangaroos, almost all bipedal dinosaurs, including birds), and since walking on two legs requires certain adjustments to body proportions, sometimes furry characters are presented as plantigrade.
