Buggles of Cera

Species

Buggles are an alien species that originated on Pony Town, but have since departed to become official Furry Community members

Appearance

Buggles are a very feline based species with a few added features;

• Appendages: Buggles have large bird-like wings and long antennae with bulbs at the end
• Patterns: Their fur is primarily black with colored spots located on the face,chest, back, thighs, and about half way down the tail. They also have a faded pattern similar to foxes on their legs and tail, and all their flight feathers usually have color or at least spots.
• Glow: The previously mentioned points, along with eyes, nose, mouth, and paws, glow through the fur due to the bioluminescence in the blood.
• Blood: an acidic, bioluminescent liquid. Can be any color imaginable, and Patterns can be seen because of a buggle’s blood glowing through their skin

Maturity

Buggles have three main stages in maturity.

Like any other animal, buggles have maturity stages, the three main being Bugglets, Bugglen, and buggles

• Bugglets: newborns, they tend to grow quickly, so they won’t be in this stage as long as some earth animals
• Bugglens: the teens, this is the stage where buggles are old enough to leave the kingdom nursery and being learning how to be functioning members of the nest
• Buggles: adults, buggles are at the stage where they can help protect and teach in the kingdom

Height ranges

• Bugglets- ½-1ft
• Bugglen- 3-4ft
• Buggles- 5-6ft
• Queen- 6-7ft

Habitat

Buggles originate from a moon by the name of Cera.

Cera is located a good bit farther from their sun in its solar system, so it’s usually a very dark moon, lit up only by the bioluminescence that every animal and plant has learned to adapt with. So even during its darkest seasons it is fairly bright due to the plants adapting with built in lights. The moon is rich with vegetation, making a cozy home for buggles. Nests usually tend to be within the giant trees that Cera holds, some trees standing up to hundreds of feet with large branches that buggles love to take refuge in.

Society

Buggles, as mentioned before, live in large trees, known as The Great Trees. Depending on a Buggle’s status, they will have a different job in the nest. The Queen and Royals look after the nest as a whole, while Nobles babysit the bugglets. Buggles are usually off hunting/scavenging for the whole Kingdom, or are teaching Bugglens. Adults will act as teachers to Bugglens. Here they learn how to fly, hunt, evade predators, and tend for their Kingdom.

Diet

Buggles have a fairly simple diet as they are not extremely picky.

They mainly base their diet on the load of glowing fruits that grow on the trees they nest in, or around their nest. Buggles also tend to eat small bugs they find, and will from time to time hunt for small mammals on the planet. Usually a buggle will pick the sweet fruit over a bloody corpse though. This fruit (Tang) is usually toxic to other species on the planet, but due to being able to quickly adapt they keep one step ahead of evolution. Because they eat these toxic fruits, their saliva is somewhat toxic/acidic. This only affects other species however, if a mother were to groom their baby bugglet it will be completely fine as long as the bugglet has been fed milk that a mother produces after eating the fruit. It will then already be in the bugglets system.

• Cervidex: A fairly large deer like creature that lurks within Cera’s trees
• Belua: A creature that resembles an alligator, dinosaur thing mixed with an anglerfish.
• Fernifly: Small bug-like creature that glides on it’s fern shaped limbs from plant to plant.
• Turgeon: A large, predatory, semi-aquatic amphibian that will basically eat whatever it can.
• Muscis: A small mouse-like creature that can mimic noises of other ceran creatures (including the buggle) to scare predators away. (not yet deemed cannon or not)

Server lore

Here’s what’s known as Server Lore. This is various bits of headcanons and memes that have become part of the culture in The Official Buggle Discord, none of this is true lore, but the community loves it

• Pocket Fur: buggles can store anything, and I mean anything in their fur
• Kelvinism: the buggle religion, Kelvin was an old meme turned god. We preach the book of Kibble (which is just infinitely “hOi i’m Kelvin”) and replace any time you use god/jesus, with Kelvin (ex.oh for kelvin sake ron, what the fuck are you doing)
• The Field: a protective shield over the server that prevents people from dying, the Co.Leader Cyan had originally put it up, but took it down when people ignored it, since then Starz has put up their own version to keep the death away
• Father Cyan: Living up to his name, Cyan is the father of the buggles. We are his children. He has power beyond our imagination and will use it to protect us (his children) at all costs. If you start shit then he will put you inside his chest floof until you chill out. His chest floof is so fluffy, it almost feels like another dimension (but isn’t because we aren’t gonna copy that steven universe shit)
• Cuteness Paradox: implemented by Kelvin’s creator, the paradox meant that while in the server, if you spoke badly about yourself, it meant you felt the same about everyone in the server. This was meant to keep people from talking down on themselves, but because everyone ignored it, it was removed.
• Buggle nip: really just catnip- but buggle. The ‘Shower Thoughts” chat in the server was named “buggle-nip-thoughts”... for a very good reason
